Babylon and Don Quixote (now in ENGLISH!) on Suvilahti Stage
Red Nose Company premieres this August 11th with an English version of the hit show Don Quixote in Stage – Suvilahti Summer Theatre. Also the “Five-star bullseye” performance Babylon gets on Stage on 18th of August.
Don Quixote is a fierce comedy of friendship, idealism and multicultural issues that are taken on stage with a clownlike astonishment. Don Quixote is so far the biggest production of Red Nose Company bringing to cooperate six important theatres from Finland. The show has received great reviews, and has been a great success with the audiences. The show premiered in 2019 and after that has had over 70 performances in Finland.
Babylon was The Thing in the Finnish theatre scene in 2018. It received rave reviews from critics and audiences alike. In Babylon, the titular character Babylon wants to solve all the core issues regarding power. Her servant Ré helps her in the process. This partly autobiographical and hilarious performance tackles a variety of situations where power is exercised. The performance asks us why we – almost always – settle into power structures in regard to each other. Can’t we live in an equal society? It also examines the power structures between genders giving fresh perspectives to issues with gender equality.
Don Quixote (ENG): 11th & 12th of August at 6pm
